Floor Corner Cabinet for Bi-fold door

Floor corner cabinet kitset cabinetry  include a solid left & right back, bottom, left & right ends (gables), two top rails and shelf(s). The bottom shelf is  pre-drilled to accept the knock-in style plastic legs. The shaped shelves have there exposed edges finished in a “T-mould” or melamine edge.

Warning:  When designing the cabinet dimensions please ensure Bifold door width is not greater than 600mm.

A good starting point is a Standard Width 880x880 with a Depth of 580 - giving a Bi-fold door size of 600mm

Maximum and Minimum Door Sizes:
The 3 basic rules to follow have to do with the sizing of the bi-fold doors.
        Rule 1: The minimum size of either individual door (single door) is 220mm.
        Rule 2: The maximum size of either individual door (single door) is 430mm.
        Rule 3: The maximum combined door size (Left door + Right door) is 650mm.
                Tip: The ideal combined door size (Left door + Right door) is between 550mm and 600mm

Here is a quick 'How to' working example of finding out wether the Door sizes are no problems on a custom sized cabinet:

Assume from your design, you have worked out that you need the following custom corner cabinet size:
        Left Width = 852mm
        Right Width = 875mm
        Left Depth = 480mm
        Right Depth = 580mm

Now you need to test it to see if it's O.K:

Test 1: Left Width 852mm minus Right Depth 580mm = Left Door Size of 270mm.
        272mm is greater than the Min. size of 220 and less than the max. size of 430mm, so this is O.K.
Test 2: Right Width 875mm minus Left Depth 480mm = Right Door Size of 295mm.
        295mm is greater than the Min. size of 220 and less than the max. size of 430mm, so this is O.K.
Test 3: The combined bi-fold door size is Left Door 272mm plus Right Door 295mm = 567mm
        567mm is less than the Max. combined door size of 650mm.
        Also, 567mm is greater than the ideal Min. size of 550 and less than the ideal max. size of 600mm, so this is perfect.

Note: Altering any one of the 4 sizes above alters the outcome of the door sizes, so if you change the size at any stage remember to do the simple 3 test rule above.

Our system also has a built-in checker to test the Corner cabinet using these simple rules but it just returns a message and not a 'how to'. If you really must have a size and it fails the 3 test rule above, then put in the size that the computer accepts for the product and use the 'Special requests' box to over-ride the size to a size that you must have, i.e.: "Over-ride Left Depth to 672mm -I must have this".

Please overwrite the default values shown in the Prompt Boxes with your specific values and a calculated price will be shown on the Shopping Cart (see label "ViewCart" above.

Height = Box Height Only (this does not include height of the Kickboard or the thickness of the bench top).
    Example: If a 900mm High Over-all Bench height is desired:
      900mm – Bench Top thickness (E.G.: 34mm) – Kickboard Height (E.G.: 146mm) = Cabinet Height 720mm.

LH Width & RH Width= the external width along the back-wall, each of which to fit in the price range.

LH Depth & = External Depth of Cabinets including Door

Shelf(s) Required = Specify number of shelves required from 0 -7. Normally ONE for Cabinets < 750mm and 5-6 for Pantry cabinets. Cabinet price is adjusted for number specified.

Shelves = Choose between either Fixed or Adjustable type shelving.

Shelf Depth: [?]= Identifies if the Shelf is Set-in from the front, the Default is set to 80mm for Base cabinets. To modify - Select one of the options.

Bifold door hang=" Select Right, Left or None as required.

Door Style - Material Finish = Here is where you select the Material that you would like the Door made from –not the actual colour/manufacturer or finish, just the Material –As that’s all that’s needed at this stage. The most common Material is Laminate because it’s the most durable and also the lowest in cost (plus it looks good of course!) .

      • Carcass (Plain White Melamine) - 16mm thick High Mositure Resistant (HMR) particle board;
      • Laminate (Melamine) - 16mm thick Coloured ;
      • GLOSS Laminate (Formica) - 16mm thick;
      • Unfinished - 16mm Craftwood (MDF) -  with a range of Face and Edge profiles - ready for DIY painting;
      • Belmont (Vinyl Wrap - TEXTURE finish) -  18mm thick with a range of Face and Edge profiles ;
      • Byron Bay (Vinyl Wrap - GLOSS finish) - 18mm thick with a range of Face and Edge profiles ;
      • Albany (Polyurethane painted - TEXTURE finish) -  18mm thick with a range of Face and Edge profiles ;
      • Avoca (Polyurethane painted - GLOSS finish) - 18mm thick with a range of Face and Edge profiles. .

For a more detailed description of these FIVE different STYLES and Price considerations please see:  Cost Considerations.

At the end of all your product ordering you MUST specify (using STEP 5: Colours & Profiles) your choice of Colour and Finish; you must have a colour choice for each product Style selected - the colour can either apply to one of: Doors & Drawers, Panels or Kickboards, or ALL of these.

You can mix different Product styles in an order, for example Painted Doors with Vinyl Wrap Panels, each with its own Colour and Profile- BUT if you want different colours for different products in a particular Style (for example Doors are specified In Beige, but you want Drawers in Light Green) then you should make a separate Order for these. (and let us know so we can ensure correct Discount calculations over both Orders.)

"Special Requests" can be used to: (for example) state you preferred Door Gap measure e.g. 1mm (in place of our standard 1.5mm); or any other need e.g. 'No shelf holes to be drilled'.

"Your Reference" is any reference you may want to make, for example to your Design Sketch/Drawing.

When you [CLICK] on the "Add To Quote" button the Product specifications are listed on a 'Shopping List' ( "Shopping Cart")  that identifies all Products that you have selected for a "Final Quote" from the Production Manager.

Only when you are ready and the Items have been validated for consistency on YOUR PC will you be prompted to submit your personal details and the contents of the shopping cart to the central system.
